Well alot has happened since the summer - New Orleans got hit with Katrina and we had some wind damage . I live about 70 miles southwest of New Orleans on the Gulf Coast and Rita did me in. I had about 4 1/2 feet of salt water over all my property and some in the house which is raised 3 feet above ground.
After the salt water sat on top of all my daylilies and other plants for a week and a half- the devistation was unreal . I lost all but 3 registered plants and 2 seedlings. All my registrations and the others are gone. My yard is a see of brown.
I have decided not to start over and a matter of fact when I complete the repairs on my house I am planning on selling and moving futher North.
I thanks all of you who contacted me and offered to replace some plants for me. But at this time I am not planning on replanting. Thanks.
Well thanks to some of my dearest friends on Daylily Chat and The Daylily Robin, I have a few daylilies to start a new collection. I now have 50 plants to enjoy next Spring. I can't wait !!! Thanks to all and God Bless you !!!!!!!!!!!
